Guarding Monk

Visit the Monk Abbey (prt_monk), located one map East, one map North and two maps East of Prontera.

Alternative route to the Monk Abbey is to go to the Prontera Church (prontera 234, 314) in the northeastern corner of Prontera. Go to the room to the righthand side and talk to Priest Praupin, ask him "What should I do?" then select "Go to the convent."

Talk to Guarding Monk (St. Capitolina Abbey 59, 247) then enter the warp (St. Capitolina Abbey 245, 106) and talk to Sensei Moohae. If you meet the qualifications, he will give you the first test, item collecting.

She will read entire passage out before allowing you to recite it. There is no penalty for failing; you can simply retry the test. Once complete, you will be sent to Boohae, located at (prt_monk 57, 179), on the bottom left side of the map.

Boohae

Boohae will give you the option of two tests: Marathon and Mushroom collecting (Only reason to choose 'Marathon' over 'Mushroom' is lack of agility/concentration potion). Later, the player may return to Boohae to change the test, if it is needed.

Bashu

If you choose "Marathon": Talk to the door keeper in front of the Abby at (prt_monk 192,170). After, enter the building and find Bashu. Tell him "Marathon". He will then send you to another area.
Run around this map without falling into the pits for 10 laps to complete the Marathon test (each time through the end portal counts as a completed lap). The map is shaped like a ring, with occasional holes that players can fall into. This test is easier to complete by lowering the camera angle very low (Ctrl+Shift+mouse wheel up), allowing pits far ahead to be seen easily.
Note that disconnecting will send you back to your save point. After the test is completed with all ten laps,you will automatically be sent out. It takes approximately 30 minutes with Increase Agility to complete.


If you choose "Collect Mushrooms": you will be sent to another map where you must hunt two types of mushrooms (Gooey & Orange). The NPC does not tell the player that they have enough mushrooms until they have 30 of either type of mushroom. During the test you will also encounter Thief Bugs who will loot your mushrooms and assist other thief bugs if attacked. These are however quite weak considering your level.

The mushrooms from the Thief test can also be used. While it is possible to have a prospective Thief gather the mushrooms, it should be easier to have an Acolyte with high agility and buffs to complete this test faster. It is best to do this bare-handed for maximum ASPD (since the damage is 1 even with a weapon).

 

Tomoon

Now locate Tomoon, also found indoors within the Abbey (prt_monk 192, 170) inside what appears to be a glowing cross. He sends you to an invisible maze. Be warned that during this test, monsters will spawn, such as Zombies and Mummies. They should not be much of a challenge, but keep in mind that you don't have much maneuvering area here.
It is possible to check if a certain cell is passable by pointing the cursor at it. Walkable cells will have the usual green walk marker; if there is none, then that cell is blocked. Generally, try sticking to a straight line from the door to the exit. If there is a choice of routes, take the one that goes closer to the center line. Patience is highly required. Disconnecting in this test will send a player back to their save point. Once out of the maze, talk to Tomoon again and drink the Green Potion he hands over.

Then return to Moohae who, after giving a lengthy speech, job changes you into a Monk. As a reward, he'll give you a Waghnak [3] or a Knuckle Duster [3] if your job level is 50.

After passing the quiz, Bijou will send the player to Dance on the stage. At this point one should make sure to equip a Bow and some arrows and then head behind the stage to meet another NPC with a "Waiting Room" chat window above her head. Entering the chatroom will put the player on queue for the trial.


The exam is a simple test of movement and quick responses. Hotkeying Arrow Shower or Double Strafe and Improve Concentration is suggested.

• Note: there's a poring at the end that has to be killed with a bow. Using Improve Concentration is optional, even though the NPC will ask for it.

For those future dancers who are having problems with this part of the test: An effective way to pass this exam is to only perform the first and last steps for sequences with more than two steps, rather than hitting all the tiles. For example: instead of doing "Left Center Right Back" one simply goes from Left to Back.

Return to the NPC who gave the quiz for the job change to Dancer. She will reward you with either a Line [3] for Job 50, or a Rope [3] for any job level lower than 50.

Ragnarok Online Job Change Bard Quest

Wandering Bard

Find the Roaming Bard, Lalo, who is at (226,123) on the Comodo town map. This is a short distance from the bottom right of the Kafra. After a short conversation with the bard he will request that the player brings him a flower. The flower must be one of the following:

• Aloe
• Frozen Rose
• Hinalle
• Illusion Flower
• Izidor
• Ment
• Singing Flower
• Witherless Rose

Once you have given the bard a flower, he will tell you to go to Lutie to become friends with the Snowman in Lutie:

Snowysnow Quest

Father Christmas

Find Snowysnow the snowman in Lutie (133,112). Select the option in blue that reads "Snowysnow?" You may need to talk to him a couple of times, but when he is immersed in thought about Poze, you need to find him.

• Note: If you are doing this quest as part of the Bard Job Change, you have to speak to an NPC inside the top right house (189,275) and then talk to Snowysnow again to activate Poze.

Poze is located to the west of the Toy Factory entrance, he is wearing a red Christmas coat (117,303). Talk to Poze and he will send you to talk to Uncle Hairy Cantata.

Uncle Hairy is located to the southeast of the Toy Factory entrance, outside a house (177,236). When you talk to him, he will want you to bring two items to him before he will talk to you. Bring 1 Squid Ink and 1 Sticky Mucus.




Return to Hairy with these items and he will talk to you about the snowman, and suggests that you talk to Thachentze to learn more.

Thachentze is in a house to the west of the large Christmas tree (122,159). In the house you'll find a Lenient Aunt. This is Thachentze, talk to her.

She will send you to get the Roughest Salt in the world from the snowman. So return to the snowman and talk to him again.

When you talk to the snowman again, select the first option, the one in blue. This will lead you though a dialogue, and at the end, you get the salt.

Return to Thachentze and talk to her again, she will then send you to talk to the clown Hashokii (147,136).

Hashokii is just to the south of the big Christmas tree. Talk to him and ask him about the snowman. He will then send you to talk to two children, Charu Charu and Marcell (207,167).

The two children are east of the tree. Be sure to talk to the "little boy" first. He will then tell you to talk to the girl next to him.

At the end of the girl's monologue, she will send you back once more to talk to the snowman. Again, select the blue option. The snowman will give you a gift from his bag; reach in and you get a present!




 









Once you become friends with Mr. Snowman, return to the bard to finish the quest. He will require the player to type exactly what he sings.

After successfully copying the bard's lyrics, he will change your job to Bard. Upon job change, the bard offers to give you a weapon if you have 60 trunks. Each type of trunk gives the player a different weapon.

Academy Staff

Go to the Magician's Academy (323, 282) which is located at the north east corner of Juno.

Once inside, to your lefthand side talk to the Staff of the Academy NPC, Metheus Sylphe, in order to register for the Sage test. You will be asked to pay 70,000 Zeny to register. As an alternative, you can give them an Old MagicBook and a Necklace of Wisdom to bypass the fee. In addition, you can tell the NPC that it's too expensive. He'll give you another requirement in which you can pay with 30,000 Zeny, 50 Clovers, 50 Feathers, and 25 Squid Ink. If you are Job Level 50, you are exempt from paying the entrance fee.

With the fee paid, it's time for the dreaded written test. Pass the first NPC and enter the next room. You should be in a hallway. Take the first left and you'll find the Written Test Professor NPC, Claytos Verdo.

In this test, you have to kill all monsters presented to you in 3 phases in a room. You have a maximum of 3 minutes in each phase to clear the monsters.

If you get knock out or cannot kill all monsters within the time limit, you will fail the test.

After you pass and return from the test room, depending on how well you done on the job quest so far, he will decide which path you go. He will assign you to either the Biology Professor, the Physics Professor or the History Professor. The professor is going to help you write your thesis. You need a thesis to graduate from the academy.

Biology Professor

If you were assigned to the Biology Professor, go to the Monster Museum as shown on the Juno map. It's located on the same island right next to the Magician Academy. Once inside, enter the back room and you'll find the Biology Professor. 

Talk to the professor, he will ask for you to get a set of items, the first set being from water property monsters and the second set being from insect monsters. He will randomly ask for each set of items:

He will give you a Wind of Verdure, Green Live, and Crystal Blue and ask for you to craft them into 50 Arroe of Wind, 50 Stone Arrow and 50 Crystal Arrow which you can bring in advance

Once you give that to him, he will begin his lecture. You can choose to pay attention, or simply refer to this guide instead. Once he finishes the lecture, he will ask you for 5 items in order to write an essay.

Magic with wind property is strong against water Magic with earth property is strong against wind However, that does not work on the opposite case. You must apply different types of property by the situation or place.

You never know the limits of magic. It is not suggested to be too addicted to magic spells. Only pertinent uses of magic, as well as rest will guarantee you a safe battle. Forming a party with people of different classes is considered the best way to ready for battle.

History Profressor

You can bring any item that has the word Yggdrasil in it  although the leaf is the easiest and cheapest to find since it's sold by NPCs. Once you give it to him, he will begin his lecture. Magic Academy Headmaster

The Blacksmith guild is located in Einbroch. Take the airship from Juno to go there. Sign up first with Blacksmith guildsman Altiregen . Your first test Geshupenschte is to help in Einbech.

 

Take the train in order to go to Einbech

Geshupenschte has three sets of test. The first part is the question and answer. There are two possible set of questions.

Show the Hammer of Blacksmith to Geshupenschte and he will change you in a Blacksmith. He’ll give you steels as a reward, 10 steels if you register for the quest at job 50 and 5 steels if you register for less than job 50.
